In clay grinding, where cost-effectiveness and fracture safety
are primary selection criteria, non-metallic mineral materials
are crushed using wear-resistant rolls. Pearlitic spheroidal
rolls are essentially indefinite chill-type rolls with free
carbides and a hard matrix. However, since the graphite
structure is transformed from flake to spheroidal, these rolls
offer significantly higher strength.
